Tuesday, September 9, 2008 is 13 Cib (Vulture): What a day to end a cycle!
Cib is the vulture, also known as death. Our western cultures do not promote a holistic view of death, in fact there are few cultures through time that have looked at death with clarity. But this planet is a world of dichotomies, and in order to maintain balance we must have transformation. Even the strongest of steel will, over time, revert or transform into its natural elements.
So too is the cycle for our existence in human form. We consume food for nutrients, and release that which we do not use, or no longer need. This should carry over into our management of emotions, thoughts, dreams, and evolution. Cib is not about loss, it is the essence of change. Thirteen contains both the end of the old cycle and the beginning of the new. Greet the day knowing that you can graciously let go of the old in celebration of the new.
