The Moon, the Equinox, and the In-Between
Signs are Everywhere, Solstice Equinox Moon Sun Add comments
This month,September 2008, we have a full moon on the 15th followed by the equinox on the 22nd. The seasons change without question, and each phase in our worldly cycle supports the life of the whole.
How do we live our conscious lives with our self appointed perspective of importance, yet still be connected to the cycles of the world? Does it matter what day it is? Have we evolved beyond the pulsations of the planet, or are we still influenced by some greater force?
The moon is the fifth largest satellite in our solar system. On September 15th we will have a full moon. The full moon brings a reflection of the light into the darkness. This months full moon begins on the day of six Ik, and carries us into the day of seven Akbal. Both of these glyphs support inspiration and the bringing of light into the darkness.
The following week brings the equinox. On September 22nd we have 13 Muluc. This day is the end of a cycle, and brings us into this shift with grace. The water seeks to flow, and will take whatever path it can in its never ending quest. Our spiritual journey emulates the water as well, and we will seek the opportunity to flow in some way or another. Can we choose whether it is graceful or bumpy? We do treasure our self empowerment, and translate that into a need to control. I think true success is found when we combine the forces of self motivation with the flow of our universal connection.
In the space between the full moon and the equinox I will be leading the Healing Drum Retreat in Yelm, WA. This event is affordable, filled with insight and tools for transition, and will be supported by three transitional energies: Cimi, to break away from the old; Manik, to open the pathways; and Lamat, to bring in greater clarity and expanded awareness. This event is open to the public, and will be a fun weekend “getaway from the city and back to nature” event. Registration is open, call 360-458-3910 to sign up.
