Thursday, October 16, 2008 is 11 Ben (Reed). Yesterday I spoke of today’s influence of the reed, and the questions we face in our either/or world. My playful nature took over for a moment, as I found myself wondering if the spelling should be “either-or”, or “ether-ore”. I guess both would apply! No matter how we look at it, we just can’t get away from the duality of our planet. I think that is the point. If you can’t beat it, join it.
The reed is always well connected by its roots, giving it the foundation of the past. The leaves grow tall, seeking out the benefits of the sun, with its replenishing restorative nature. Those leaves also contain the flexibility to bend in the influences of the world as the wind twists wildly through its domain. There will always be a wind. The question is not what crosses your path, but how you respond to what comes your way.
