Monday, December 22, 2008, is 13 Ahau (Light, Lord). Today is the final day of a 260 day cycle. There is a sense of completion, but the Mayan Tzolkin flows in a circular manner, continuous yet ever changing. For today the message I hear is to stand tall within the light of Ahau. Honor your accomplishments, and if your achievements are unclear or incomplete, then honor what you have learned along this journey. If you cannot find honor within your steps, find it within your breath.
We use far too many words in this world. We say things like, “I am hungry”, or “I am a writer”.On this day of Ahau, in the thirteenth number day, we need nothing more than to say,“I am”.
Tomorrow we begin a new cycle, returning to 1 Imix. The calendar, though, is a wheel, with no origin or ending. We always ask which came first, the chicken or the egg. We live within the world of opposing forces and a lifetime of questions, making this life challenging but oh so exciting!
Stand tall, and if it so pleases you let yourself be one with the light. “I am”, lets that divine presence within us align with the all-that-is.
