Tuesday, December 9, 2008, is 13 Manik (Deer, Hand). In the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, Jack’s mother threw the seeds out the window with the statement, “What good will these do us?” Disappointment and anger filled her mind, fueled by the cage of poverty and the “reality” of their lives.
Our thoughts and beliefs are powerful tools within our lives. Thank goodness that our spiritual guidance and support know us better than we know ourselves. Had those seeds been cast into her “reality”, could they survive? Not likely, for her experience only gave her loss and hardship. What if she cast those seeds into her heart? While her will did carry within it the strength to wake yet another day, it battled between wanting and needing. Any tender seedlings would likely be trampled under the hooves of these two internal forces.
Lucky for us the universe sees the bigger picture. The seeds were cast out, and in the stillness of Cimi something happened within those seeds: they sprouted. The gateway opened through the energy of Manik, the Deer. Manik sees the beauty and purpose, despite the story we think is the truth. Manik sees what is in our hearts. What will come tomorrow? When we awaken, what will we see?
