Saturday, December 6, 2008 is 10 Kan (Seed, Lizard). Today it all comes out in the open, that which has been percolating in the darkness of Akbal. But as we open our eyes on this day we find the seed in the place of completion. How can this be?
Prayers come in many forms. Some ask for what they have worked so hard to achieve. Others ask for a change, a fresh start. Can you accept the gift of the seed? It is just like the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. You step into a state of grace, and bring yourself to the point of willingness to give away the little that you have. Thoughts race through your head of what will come in return, and when the universe opens its hands to you, there they are: the magic beans.
Here is your crossroad. Do you take those beans for face value, making a nice chili that will fill your belly today? Do you toss them out the window, wishing you had your cow back? This day gives us something new, how will it inspire you?
