Between the flowing action of the rainstorm and the formation of the earth we find Ahau, the Mayan Glyph for the light. Many speak of this influence, some glorifying the complex yet interactive nature in the name of science. Others speak with a voice of reverence. What is Ahau, is it the soul? Could it be purpose? Is it divine guidance, or the very heart of creation?
When we look at the Mayan Calendar through the eyes of our “modern” conditioning, we see the numbers one through twenty. Throughout history there have been many great minds, and many more mediocre ones in a place of leadership (as I hear so many of you communicate as I type this statement). We could speak volumes about the events throughout time and the steps taken by mankind. In a nutshell, there has been exclusion of the number zero, the space in which we find Ahau. Why have we forgotten the very place we come from? Why have we forced the incredible power of all possibilities into a package that is defined as nothing? Even today there are many forces that attempt to separate us from the “all that is”.
What does zero give us? Ahau is with us before we have the breath that animates us called Ik. Ahau is with us before we have the earth that gives us our form, called Imix. Ahau is not and cannot be empty, it is everything, including space. Ahau is opportunity in an undefined container. We cannot help it, we all live in the embrace of Ahau.
Ahau is the “Twentieth” glyph of named days in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, and will repeat every twenty days, but with a different number day. Which day were you born on? What degree of destiny or fate does your birthdate hold? The combination of named day and number day only comes around once every 52 years. What does your combination say about you?
