Cimi appears to be the most somber of glyphs, and by many it is known as the glyph of death. We know that in death we must travel alone. So to is our cleansing process. We turn inward, in silence, to pray. We perceive that we are alone, but in our journey we realize that it is only solitude. As we cross over into the meditative state of Cimi we bring balance to the opposing forces of separation and the all-that-is. Within the concept of Cimi we find a sense of oneness where we will never be alone.
Our physical form does fear death. We also fear losing our composure, our handle on what life means. Cimi comes to us without the weight of our explanations. Cimi opens us to a place without walls. We seek this freedom, but also run from it. So it is with our human form, and somewhere in the middle we strive to find balance between our worldly ways and our spiritual visions.
Cimi is the sixth glyph of named days in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, and will repeat every twenty days, but with a different number day. Which day were you born on? What degree of destiny or fate does your birthdate hold? The combination of named day and number day only comes around once every 52 years. What does your combination say about you?
