In the Mayan Daily Insights for Sunday, February 1, 2009 we come face to face with 2 Imix. Today is the 2nd number day, the bringing together of two forces. The name glyph of the alligator, Imix, brings in the spirit of creation. I see the image of the alligator, its eye blinking closed and reopening so fast so it will not miss a single moment. We have such joy for living, especially in that first moment of awareness.
There is the excitement in the realization that life exists. We need not know what will come tomorrow; no, Imix lives in the moment.
You cannot remain in the vision of tomorrow and feel the wind upon your face. You cannot linger in the shavings of the past and at the same moment feel the sensuous sensation as you wiggle your toes within the mud.
Awareness joins with life only in the present, a place we are reminded to be. A blink comes so quickly, and we don’t want to miss a single moment.
