In the Mayan Daily Insights, Friday, March 27, 2009, is 4 Men (Eagle). Today is Friday, the completion for the workweek for the typical worker. For many of us we do not consider our employment to be much more than a paycheck, and without the paycheck we would abandon these activities.
When we bring in consideration for this day’s tone of Men, the Eagle, we see the interactivity between our acts and our self. In our world there are many opportunities to serve ourselves, our Divine, and our fellow man. There are some who find this act of service to be subservient and degrading. Others give beyond the point of reason, and deplete themselves without restoration. A few find the act of service to be a mission, an expression, even a blessing.
As we look back over as simple a slice of time as this last week, what will we find? Can we find any acts of giving, sharing, and communicating with others in a way that can build a relationship or better a life? There is no loss or hierarchy of importance in giving, for each of us can benefit, even when it does not appear to be the case. Men, the Eagle, reminds us that service is an opportunity and a path we can follow every day of our lives.
