Wednesday, April 1, 2009 is 9 Ahau (Light, Lord). I didn’t realize until the moment I typed this day’s Mayan Daily Insight that this day of the light was the day of the fool.
In the Tarot the first card is the fool. This day, April 1st, is known as well as “April Fool’s day”. Many bring out the trickster, for that keeps them safely in the embrace of the stories we create. But in the tarot the fool embraces their desire to learn, then steps through the illusion and into the light.
Today is a good day to honor the fool within ourselves. The fool is not to be ridiculed or cast aside, but honored. It takes great humility to shed our own ego. It takes courage to walk past the comfort of what we know to step into a world we do not understand.
Today can we let ourselves explore a little bit of our own fool, and create enough opening to see that there is more to life than what meets the eye? Why this, why now? Tomorrow is the day of manifestation, but it is not too late to influence it’s outcome.
