Thursday, April 9, 2009, is 4 Lamat or Rabbit, Star in the Mayan Calendar. Today I am reminded of the song, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”. On this fourth number day we greet the star, Lamat, who’s brilliance gives us a sense of hope. This step is necessary for us to move forward from the comfort of what we have known into that combination of darkness and starlight that is our tomorrow.
In our world of knowledge we know that the stars are massive burning orbs, and up close they would be unbearable. From our perspective, here on the ground, they twinkle. We are given a glimmer of light, a gentle reminder that can only be described as hope.
Look out at the stars. The universe is massive in comparison to our world. We are barely a dot upon the surface of our planet. Yet within us we hold all possibilities. We are a universe within.
