Sunday, May 17, 2009 is 3 Cimi, or death. As well as I understand the meaning of Cimi I still reacted in a startled way when I saw the glyph for this day. Death is a major transformation, and is a reasonable description for the transformational quality of Cimi.
Transitions are a normal part of life, and are required to sustain life. Most of those changes come about with ease. Others are more challenging, and at times painful. What makes them the most painful is our resistance to the change, our fears and lack of faith.
We see transitions all around us, as the flower blooms, the bird breaks free of its shell, and the seasons change. When we combine the message of three with Cimi, we find that for ever step forward we must let go of the prior step, but the footprint still remains in the sand.
