Monday May 4, 2009 is 3 Ben (Reed). As I look over the definitions given to Ben, the reed, I focus on the shift from self to service. “That’s not what I want to focus on”, says Ben. “No one wants to look at a shift as losing some part of self, and they will not follow.” But our worldly ways create such a one sided view.
When we step into the place of Ben we are always preceded with the playfulness of Chuen, opening our receptors. Then we are lead to Eb, with the gift of abundance. What we are provided is one thing, whether or not we drink of it is another.
So, the point is that every opportunity is given to fill ourselves, to nourish and replenish. When we step forward into the higher aspects of life we can do so more easily with that full belly and the wisdom we acquired along the way.
“Should there be any thought to whether or not the opportunity has been lost, fear not.” The common belief had been of a world that was flat, and they hesitated before venturing too far in any direction for fear of falling off the edge. Time is believed to be linear, a straight line. Venture too far in either direction and you will transition from this life. In time the world was found to be circular, and if you venture enough in one direction you will return home. So too with time.
