Footprints in the Sand

Monday May 11, 2009 is 10 Ahau, the Light. The number ten signifies manifestation. This carries us beyond intent, but what part of the footprint in the sand is known as the point of manifestation? Is it the weighing of the foot into the sand, or the impression left as the foot lifts onward to its next step, both figuratively and literally? Perhaps is it all of the above, including the movement. After all, what is life without consciousness? What purpose does the footprint serve without the connectivity between its creator and each step along the way?

What good is the apple on the tree when it does not serve others? Certainly there is value for the tree itself, and it must have its own self-serving ways to complete its cycle. But when we bring in the connectivity, and see how the tree serves those who consume its fruit, giving the tree even greater spread of its seeds, we begin to tap into the amazing inter-connectivity of life and its greater purpose. I sense that even with our intellectual awareness of synergy that we have only tapped into  the surface. Actions do, after all, speak louder than words, and we have seen many acts that cause us to look away.

On this, the day of manifestation, just as quickly as we create we step forward. In a matter of days we begin a new wave, only one of so many. Perhaps this is a time to create a change in perception as we step into Imix, Ik, and Akbal and begin the next cycle with the underlying purpose of the apple, known as the seed.
