Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

Friday, May 8, 2009, is 7 Caban, the Earth. Today brings us a full moon, and the hopeful feelings that arise within. The lunacy that has entertained us is only a part of the potential that comes with this day, or night, of so many possibilities.

The wide eyed dreamer arises within our hearts only when we create space for such an occurrence. The full moon rises with such possibilities, and only our own fear gets in the way.

Caban, the earth, stands steadily by our side, showing us that what we see around us is only a container for our own thoughts and actions. The doorway to our creativity is always open, and we are provided illumination both day and night.

And so here we stand, directly in the middle. The number seven stands in the middle of the 13 day cycle. We stand in the middle of the earth. No matter where you are in the circular world there is no other place to be but in the middle. Within the timeline, in the view of the Mayan Tzolkin, the wheel always turns, and where do we stand? I suspect we stand somewhere in the middle.

Caban says, “Here you are”, followed by silence. What will you do with so much creative space? Sure you can choose to explore the lunacy, or fine-tune your focus. Either way you will get exactly what you asked for. Aren’t you glad you have the earth to stand upon, something solid beneath your feet?
