In the Mayan Daily Insights today Wednesday, May 20, 2009 is 6 Muluc (Water). Pun intended, Mulac and time can be seen in the same stream of thought. It is difficult to contain time, though a moment can seem to drag on forever. This concept is explored in Einstein’s theory of relativity. A lifetime can pass in the blink of an eye. Despite the illusion of the starts, stops, and ever changing tempo, time always flows like an unbroken string.
We bring that same continuity with the stream of consciousness that flows with the spirit of Muluc. Oh how we enjoy our sense of power, that we can break down and separate the many elements in this world. We revel at our ability to isolate a thought, or a concept. Our minds churn on like little factories creating their own world, much like a child building the castle in the sand.
The glorious thing about it all is that no one on a universal level looks down at us with contempt, belittlement, or any other idea that takes away the value of our creation. Yes, the tide comes in, and we may find our sand castle swept away as we stand frozen in the moment, but this opens a new doorway as well. We can build a new castle, or bury our head in the sand, or even overtake another castle on the beach. We may appear to stand still but nothing ever stands in the way of us making some choice.
Does time change its tempo? Science and soothsayer alike continue to create theories around the concept of time. In the “meantime” life goes on, much as it has since day one.
