Mayan Daily Insights: One Day, One Insight

Sunday, July 5, 2009 is 13 Men, the Eagle. In the Mayan Daily Insights we look at the relationship between the day tone and picture tone. On this day there is the magical number 13 and the eagle.

All good acts are founded on a belief or decision. What good is it to stand up if there is nothing to stand for? What good is the statement without a voice to carry it? The strength and conviction we carry through the eagle combines so many powerful aspects of self, and produce any of a number of tools such as purpose or direction.

The story of the eagle is one of many levels, service being the strongest statement of this picture glyph. Service can be a hollow shell, almost a robotic act that has no meaning. Service can also be a powerful emanation of the heart, spirit, and soul.

Tomorrow we carry the energy of the eagle into a new 13-day cycle. Each step leads to another, and every pebble helps build the road.
