In the Mayan Daily Insights today Wednesday, July 1, 2009 is 9 Chuen (Monkey). Have you ever gone to a party, or what was supposed to be a fun event, and found yourself feeling detached and out of synch with the festivities? Yesterday we talked about Oc, and finding that harmonic place where we can have our cake and eat it, too. Okay, I did use a party-oriented expression. We’re not talking about foregoing your diet; we’re talking about being in the center of your own universe, and allowing the planets and stars to revolve around you.
Yesterday we looked into the ability to be committed to the cause; that cause being your centeredness within your own life. In order to have that deep, rich pleasure in life we have to have our own heart and best interest as well as our connection and love for others.
What good is it to be the wallflower at the party, watching everyone have a good time but you (especially when you have worked so hard to make that party happen!). Sure, you have have your own little private party, pushing everyone else out the door, but that life become a bore. We gain so much through our thoughtful interactions with others.
Chuen always follows Oc. There must be good reason for this. You can have your cake, and eat it, too.
