Sunday, July 19, 2009 is 1 Muluc (Water). Today I am going to parallel another website, and invite you to read the latest story at the Hummingbird Shaman website. This site is very much the Mayan Daily Insights in the sense that it reflects on our virtues, challenges, and lessons in a story-like fashion. The majority of our life experiences are carried in story form, and somewhere along the line we use those bits and pieces to build our wisdom.
Today is Muluc, and yes we talk about reflectivity, but the ability to see does not come about from the water, but its calm state at the time. Water is a powerful substance, and while it gives life to the plants and animals it also erodes and even destroys. Does its ability to destroy make water bad, or dangerous? I don’t think so, it is only how it is used that decides our opinion of it.
Is it not exactly the same with our own resources? Perhaps our physical composure triggers or mirrors the element of water. 60 to 70 percent of our body is water, after all. We are not bad by nature, but our actions can have a positive or negative affect on others. It is for us to decide to be still and reflective, or move in a Tsunami-like state. Revive or Erode – What is your nature?
