Our actions mean nothing without purpose. The breath gives us everything we need to make the simplest experience into an enriching spiritual banquet.
The origin of the word spirit is breath. Carry that word into your reading of the old texts and the stories will take on new meaning. We have before us the greatest gift, the gift of life and boundless opportunity for experience.
Many debate whether our circumstances are a means to accomplish whatever it is we are here to do, while others see the world around them as an external means of control, and a wall that must be broken. I will not move in either direction, and let the paradigm be what it is so I am not caught up in trying to resolve something that was never intended to be fixed.
Today we have the breath of Ik on this first step of the thirteen day cycle. The breath cannot exist outside of you, and no one can give you your own breath. This day is one Ik, a wonderful place to be, at the beginning, in the center of your own life.
