In the Mayan Daily Insights, Thursday, August 6, 2009 is 6 Manik, the deer or hand. In today’s view of Manik I see forward movement and awareness. The footprint is light, and directional, but the eyes take in so much more. So is life, that we have awareness of far more than we could ever experience.
Manik is preceded by Cimi, where we are asked to let go of what we perceive to be our world, only to be lead to a new level. With Manik we begin to see things in a different way, with the awakening that comes when we realize we are more than just a physical form or a tiny speck along a timeline.
How can we make the most of this day of Manik? For the first time I will bring into this forum the statement that so many make, comparing Manik to the work manic. The Mayan influence of Manik is not frenzied or out of control in any sense; but without self realization we could become entranced by the many new visions. The deer moves forward, deliberately moving in its chosen direction, with full awareness of the surrounding world. Today we can be alert and open to new perceptions, and gain so much, even while we remain within our own steps.
