Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

In the Mayan Daily Insights, Thursday, August 20, 2009 is 7 Imix the Alligator. When I look at the number tone for today we are clearly in the middle and high point of the cycle, yet in this round we find that Imix is the quality we focus on today. Imix is a beginning, the birth. We do count our days only on the outside.

The beginning is never really the beginning though. There is an expansion of muscles that leads to the first breath. There is the incubation time when the vessel is created so that it is strong enough to survive. Our thoughts and dreams must be the same, too. Dreams seem far more susceptible to influence by outside forces, but we don’t always have a clear idea as to how long they should incubate, or when they are ready for the outside world.

On this day of 7 Imix it is clear that our starting places are not always our beginning. Much takes place before the birth. The collection of observations or influences come together before the thought. In a sense we always start in the middle, but the middle is a good place to stand.
