In the Mayan Daily Insights, Monday, September 7, 2009 12 Cauac (Rainstorm). The rainstorm holds a task that is both welcomed and feared. When we are in the middle of the rainstorm it can feel isolating, but the outcome is just the opposite. You see, the rainstorm is intended to wash away exactly those things that create our feeling of isolation. True, it may feel like you are right in the middle of it, because you are. But you do not need to live it, or become it, just let it wash away.

So on this day in the Tzolkin calendar we turn to the combination of twelve and Cauac the rainstorm. We are at a turning point today, preparing for a new day. In two days we have in our modern calendar 9/9/2009, which coincides with the combination of the first number and first face glyph combination. Is this truly a new beginning?

As you travel forward what will you carry as your supplies? A compass and a map are always good to bring along. What will you carry in your heart? What of your mind, do the thoughts you carry serve you?

Today is also Labor Day in the US, a day of remembrance for our hard work and diligence. When you focus on your acts of labor is it with pride of accomplishment? Today is the rainstorm, with focus on washing away anything that smears or blemishes your clarity, passion, and purpose.

This is truly a day of taking that deep breath and preparing for a leap, and it is intended that we understand that every golden thread of experience and insight we have gathered along the way need only be seen for its value, not just the sweat equity.

Tomorrow is the day of light, let yourself be clear today of the past, creating space for your future. For today, let the rainstorm wash away that which does not serve you.
