Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

In the Mayan Daily Insights, Thursday, September 17, 2009 9 Muluc, the Water. Yesterday we spoke of one of our greatest hot-topics: money. We have seen great works come from the philanthropy of organizations and individuals. We have also seen the corruption and abuse in an attempt by some to hold onto a power that cannot be carried with us into our higher spiritual levels.

Today we have Muluc, the water as our focus on the outer wheel of the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, teamed with the number tone of nine. The number nine is the final number before manifestation. Nine is seen as powerful since it is the combination of three times three. Could this three be body, mind and spirit? Could it be the individual, the universe, and the creation that combines dream and resources? We stand here in an interesting situation where we feel a need to control, but it is never fully about “ourselves”.

The vision I see of Muluc on this day has to do with the flow that fills and replenishes the waters. Life flows into and from the pond, and the pond serves others by simply being. The pond does not need to control either side, for nature will provide whatever is needed to address any excess or imbalance. But, if the pond is stagnant, barring the flow on either side, chances are good that the pond will become toxic. The pond is the vessel, much like the human form.

Tomorrow we continue with the alliance between universe and self with the 10th glyph in the Mayan calendar and the day of manifestation.
