Today is Thursday, September 10, 2009, 2 Ik in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar and the Mayan Daily Insights. Day two of a new 260 day cycle, but how much can we say new when we see two wheels turning together? One breath leads to another, with the physical always under the domain of renewal and release, or life and death. Our mortality gives us opportunity to appreciate and treasure an entire lifetime or even just a moment, and live those moments to the fullest.
I believe we begin life that way, fully engaged. Our highs and lows, trials and tribulations give us opportunity to snap out of the trance state of our routines, to reawaken. The body takes breath, filling its lungs then again releasing. As spirit we have those peaks and valleys as well, having moments of sleep-walking only to awaken again through great pleasure, or pain.
Today is day two of both a 13 day and 260 day cycle with the breath, the infusion of spirit in the physical to animate. Day three approaches. For today, give honor to both sides of this physical teeter-totter, and appreciate both sides of the breath. To deny one side is to deny both.
