In the Mayan Daily Insights, Saturday, September 26, 2009 is 5 Edznab (Flint). The glyph of Edznab is the 18th of 20 glyphs, only two steps away from Ahau, the light. Of course in the Mayan calendar life is circular, allowing us the ability for new cycles, so we really see no beginning or ending, only the subtle nuance of change in each day.

The light exists, 24/7, yet we separate ourselves from it through our positioning. We gather clouds, or our inner smoke screen, or even an eclipse, to lessen that light. Still, the light is omnipresent. Today is the day of Edznab, and we are reminded that the smoke is only smoke.

In ancient times we feared the eclipse, thinking that some powerful force had stolen our light. While we are no longer intimidated by this external phenomena we are still influenced when we find those shadows within ourselves. We seek the light, but at times we cannot see what is right before us. Still, the light is omnipresent.
