There has to be more than just waking up every morning

In the Mayan Daily Insights, Tuesday, September 29, 2009 is 8 Imix (Alligator). Imix is the first glyph and is seen as birth or new beginnings. No matter how intellectually or spiritually oriented we become we are still fully immersed within the physical world. We are gifted with the wisdom of the world through our DNA and genetic inheritance.

The number eight can be viewed as the infinity symbol, the never ending flow of life that brings the quality of spirit to the physical yet also brings the opportunities of the physical to spirit. This flow is different than the flow of the yin-yang symbol. As we wind back and forth time and time again we follow in the same footsteps but the journey is still new to us.

Where does this lead us, this winding road? We can gain a from our immersion in the world, the pleasure or pain of experience. There is more to life than experience, though, something of higher value. There has to be more than just waking up every morning! Tomorrow we will bring in purpose as we explore the spiritual counterpoint to this primal beginning.
