Mayan Daily Insights: One Day, One Insight

In the Mayan Daily Insights, Friday, September 11, 2009 3 Akbal, the Night. Today we bring a third element or quality in the mix. Day one gave us form, Imix. Day two animated that carbon unit, giving it the tick-tock of the clock through the breath, Ik. Now we step into the third day with Akbal, the night. Didn’t we just add breath? Why would we step into the night? Isn’t that a step in the wrong direction?

All life begins before its moment of birth, like conception leads to the birthing day. Our senses observe, and the mind chooses a direction, and then we follow that thought with action.

Akbal, the night, is a powerful ability to awaken into a new idea, a different viewpoint. What a blessing it is to have consciousness. We can take an observation and make so many amazing creations of it through assessment, interpretation, and turn our vivid little imaginations loose.

The breath may animate us, but consciousness shows us that we can mold our time and energies in new directions. In a sense there is nothing better than the night and another opportunity to bring dream into reality.
