In the Mayan Daily Insights, Sunday, October 4, 2009 is 13 Cimi (Death). There is a great energy at this time of the year, and yesterday’s passionate influence fully embraces times like this. Isn’t it great to have that great electrical charge in our lives? That charge comes from the opposing forces of positive and negative.
In this case we have today’s Harvest Moon – the seeds of tomorrow that nearly burst at the seam, waiting to come to life. Yet on the other side we are only just beginning our winter slumber. Look at How Much we have to look Forward to, why do we have to wait?
In the Mayan calendar today is Cimi, known traditionally as death. Yes, it is the death of the summer, and when we harvest there is no way that the old creations can continue to grow, we have robbed them of their seeds. But this is the cycle of life: we are not allowed to stay forever in any given moment, no matter how wonderful that moment may seem. Cimi tells us to let it go, and have faith in tomorrow.
The old falls away and is trampled into the ground. The earth, our time driven world of living, breaks down the old in order to create the fertile ground for tomorrows seeds. This is the way of the world, and it all fits together with great reason.
We can each look at our lives and find those bits and pieces of yesterday that we can now let go. Sometimes those creations are fully released, like the sunflower that returns completely into the ground. Sometimes it is the leaves of the mighty oak, letting go of one season, yet retaining the wisdom contained in its structure.
The day for planting will come soon enough. We must remember to prepare ourselves for the new growth to assure the success in the growth to come.
