There are many rewards in life: financial gain, the love of another, and the wide spectrum of experience. Success is not always something to be measured.
There are times when outcomes don’t live up to our expectations. In those times what do we do other than say, “I’ve learned from the experience”. Given enough of these learning times it becomes easier to say, “success is elusive”.
Is success really our greatest gain? In the Mayan Tzolkin calendar the day of Tuesday, October 27, 2009 is 10 Muluc, the water. Ten is supposed to be the day of completion, and the question could be asked, “Completion of what”? Is it something tangable, something I could hold in my hand? On this particular day of completion we have Muluc, the sign for water. Good luck holding on to the water with your bare hands.
To really succeed in holding on to the water what do we need? A vessel? Something to carry this prized element? We must create a container that will successfully hold what we desire. How do we create it? If you were to look around right now your thoughts would play a role in selecting the right container, something that would improve your chance of success. In other areas of life how much do your thoughts apply, can you choose or build the right conditions to improve the odds of success in your endeavors?
Today is 10 Muluc, and we can look down at our cupped hands and watch as the water drips down from our fingers. We can also shift our awareness to the source of that water, and use whatever means we have available to us at the moment.
