In the Mayan Daily Insights, Saturday, October 3, 2009 12 Chicchan or Serpent. Saturday has become the traditional day of play for many of us. When we look at the traditional work/play relationship how many of us look forward to that day when we set aside our turmoil for a little pleasure? Today we bring the spirit of Chicchan into the mix, the burst of passion that is actually a mix of the earth with our spiritual presence. Oh, we live for passion: its magnetic quality attracts us, and its feel-good quality is such a wonderful feast for the soul.
Allow me to bring a more serious element into view, and that is the energy of regret. I know we have all seen (or felt) regret, when the outcome was not what was desired or expected. We have the choice of how we respond. Do we throw away everything we have worked for because it does not fit, or do we accept what we have today and use it to build a better tomorrow? We always have a choice. We need not be the swine that tramples the pearls we have thrown to the ground.
Tomorrow gives us the Harvest Moon on the thirteenth day in the Mayan calendar. Do we look at the seeds as we reap our rewards, or the chaff that is intended to fall away? The cycle continues, and we can carry ourselves forward with the passion of today to encourage us. We will come full turn, and return to the day of passion once again, much richer from the decisions we make today.
