Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

In the Mayan Daily Insights, Thursday, October 15, 2009 is 11 Caban, the Earth. Yesterday we spoke of sandcastles on the beach. It’s becoming clear that the time for us to recognize our accomplishments is now, before our view gets hazy and the tide erases our yesterday.

Today we have the eleventh day with the element of Caban, the earth. In numerology the number 11 is a “master number”, meaning that it is left as is rather than reducing it down to a single digit. It is known as illumination or higher spiritual awareness, life path, and destiny.

In the Mayan calendar I see that the number eleven can be viewed from many angles. When we see it in use on the cycle of evolution it is the integration of our physical experience into spiritual meaning. Today with the element of the earth accompanying eleven this idea seems very well supported.

This cycle seems to carry with it introspect into our own purpose and value, and how we carry our own contribution into the world. Yesterday we spoke of the sandcastles, and some of us put great time and energy into our creations. It is time we recognize our capabilities, but we must also understand that our creations are not everything. The tide will come soon enough to make room for tomorrow, look now else all you have left is the memory.

In the next few days we will complete the current cycle with two powerful forces. Tomorrow will be a breakthrough day for some, but some will hold onto the belief that letting go means everything will fall apart. The tide never carries away the sand, it just clears it of the imprint we have left through our presence.

For today, recognize that you do have an impact, as does everyone else. Take the time to see what you have done today, and grow from it. The world goes ‘round, and with each day we turn revolution to evolution.
