In the Mayan Daily Insights, Sunday, October 11, 2009 is 7 Ben, the Reed. Who came up with this whole idea about the “straight and narrow”? When does anything in life come in such a neat little package? We have the curves and bumps of the road, the ebb and flow of the water, and a million possible directions packed up in each tiny little moment.

Today we have Ben, the Reed, with a reminder that life has texture. We’ve also learned, to a certain degree, that we are creators. We can take what life has to offer and weave it into any of a number of shapes. Those creations can then serve us, make us stronger, help us gather and grow.

This is really what matters, taking what life offers and making something of it. Oh, we do have that whole straight and narrow as well, it can be found in Ahau, the light. But let’s leave that for another day, another story. For today let’s take things as they come, bending as we can to make something out of the experience.
