Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

In the Mayan Daily Insights, Friday, October 9, 2009 is 5 Chuen, the Monkey. This day comes at the end of the workweek, and for many we here that deep sigh of release as they whisper, “TGIF”. On this day we return to honor the inner child and our playful, self gratifying nature.

Yesterday we brought in a heavy load by looking at Oc and our responsible nature. Life truly is a lot of hard work, and sometimes it seems there is little reward. But in the same respect we have to look deeper into the purpose of our journey and see precisely who we are working for. What are we are bringing to the table to honor that part of ourselves?

Life is really unfair, isn’t it? We’re given the nature of the child, so full of life, and we “live for these moments”. Yet we know we cannot always stay in that viewpoint, we must also make decisions, even the difficult ones. But it is that drive that gives us movement, the animated workings of the soul.

For now let’s enjoy our TGIF, take that deep breath, and let a long sigh unravel the knots and “nots” we find from those times we get too deeply entangled in our journey. Sometimes we just have to say, “Oh well”, throw our hands up in the air, and remind ourselves what an adventure it is just to be here.
