Today is the new moon, and to find this event combined with Muluc seems contradictory. Ah, this is the planet of contradictions, and on this day we see how much value there is in opposites.
What happens when you take away something that has been there so consistently that you no longer give attention to its presence? Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
The moon reflects to us the light, that which has been called divine. Water has that same reflective quality, not so much to see the world around us, but to see our own reflection. Take away our ability to reflect and we lose so much. We need our earth and moon, our yin and yang, the ability to compliment or conflict.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and in the darkness of the new moon we might find ourselves searching for the light that we’ve depended on our entire lives. Remember though that everything in this world is designed to go full cycle, and the light will return.
Today in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar, Monday, November 16, 2009 we have 4 Muluc, the Water, and opportunity to remember what is always here for us, whether we see it or not.
