In the states we celebrate Halloween on the eve of All Saints day, followed the next day by All Souls day. Overall we speak of honor and remembrance. On this day in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar we celebrate two Ix, the Jaguar.
“It should be mentioned that to give honor to another you must first experience honor within yourself.” This is a blessed day, to focus on amazing acts by those who at one time appeared to be “just another person”. Yet through their actions and outcome they are escalated to a status beyond the normal life death memorial.
What does this mean? As I hear it and see the images provided for this days message, all I can say is, “we can remind ourselves that all things are sacred, and perhaps when we see life through those eyes we may honor it as well.”
