At what point do we awaken, is it at the origin, or completion? We must begin with some fragment of consciousness, something that connects us with presence in a particular experience.
We do our best to breathe, yet so often hold our breath. The clock ticks on, and while we cannot help but stand in the moment some portion of our awareness goes instantly into assessing and we lose ourselves not in the present conditions but in the mind’s act of bridging our past and our potential.
In the Mayan Daily Insights, Wednesday, November 11, 2009 is 12 Kan, the seed and the lizard. The seed cannot help but grow, that is its only purpose. The lizard cannot help but respond to its environment, changing in a way which keeps it safe from harm.
And there we stand, moment by moment, doing our best to breathe. We find ourselves in yet another surreal moment as we create a realization of self, an instance of being. At what point do we awaken, at conception, or in the split second between this moment and the next?
