Yesterday we spoke of time as a blessing and a curse. Why does time even exist? Could the reason be found in our desire to explore the depth of our being? What better time to bring together our thoughts and actions, what better opportunity to see our impact on the world?
We have created so many different perceptions of time. As we grow older we may feel that time passes by too quickly. We can be bored, or might find ourselves waiting for something to happen. We measure time almost as much as we measure ourselves.
For the Mayan Daily Insights for Thursday, November 5, 2009 we turn to the Tzolkin calendar and discover the focus on 6 Edznab, the flint. Measure for measure we see that a closed hand can neither give nor receive. Can our perception of the movement of time be relational to our ability to be in the moment? Edznab reminds us to let go of whatever does not serve us, it is our only hope for receiving anything new.
Time is the illusion and we are the illusionists, able to make the most of every moment.
