Mayan Daily Insights: How We Learn About Ourselves, One Day At A Time

Yesterday we spoke of perceptions, the internal perception of our experiences. This introspective quality is akin to the stars, the water, and the dream. When we translate these qualities into our day-to-day living, we see how important it is to know what we seek, but in making anything successful there are steps along the way.

It is important that we dream. Our dreams give us a sense of involvement, a value for our being, rather than just being a spectator in a world of activity. Dreams alone do not quench our thirst. We can have a thousand dreams, but without some purpose and beneficial outcome how do we achieve a sense of completeness or success?

Lamat serves as a bridge between that place of so many possibilities, and the reflective space where we test the potential outcome of our actions. Three gives us the relationship: it is important that we begin within our idea, but also see how it will be received in the world, but it is still not complete until we know what we receive in return. It’s a three step process.

Does the turning of the Mayan calendar tell us who we are, or define our movements? Perhaps not, but it does show us that everything turns in a cycle. Yes, the past few days have been very introspective, as will be tomorrow, but the days of action will soon follow. Isn’t it better to be prepared?
