2010: Prediction, Preminition, or Purposeful Intent?

Happy New Years Eve!   What have we made of events like the turning of a year, better yet the turning of a decade?  Freedom: we have the ability to assess our experiences and beliefs, and choose our own reaction, though some of us go overboard and assign judgments and rules to life’s events.

December 31, 2009 10 Ix, the Jaguar in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar.  Think of the calendar as a way we set the theme for the day, giving a combination of décor and music that support one-another. I’d say that setting today’s celebration at the completeness of ten and the inward power of Ix, the Jaguar is pretty powerful.

Back in the 80’s and 90’s we had the “me” generation, and unfortunately too many of our children carry this new tradition forward.  It could have been a far more productive time with a little more consciousness and desire to do and be our best.  Then again, taking a step back into a more graceful perspective, perhaps our outward expressions have been a display of what we had hidden away, pulled forward so we can see those thoughts more clearly and make a more empowered decision as to our behaviors.

Today is 10 Ix, the Jaguar.  We can take this day as a reminder that we are far more empowered than we ever give ourselves credit for.  Our opportunities are not built upon the obstacles we face, only on the choices we make.  It is just as easy to discover the goldmine as it is to step over it.

Today is also the day of completion, presented in the number ten.  We’re talking a giant step today, so instead of looking at this day as “made your bed, now lie in it” we could build a stronger pathway to our future success.  For myself I see the connections I have made, the opportunities that have opened, the many people who support me when I ask, and the consciousness and creativity I carry forward.

As we move forward many ask, “What can we look forward to in 2010?”  To that the origin of our power speaks out, saying, “What do you want it to be?”  Happy New Year, and welcome to 2010.  Do we make it a prediction, premonition, or purposeful intent?
