Success can be a frightening thing. How often do our projects run so deep in our lives that they feel like a make or break situation? Most of the time success means change, and change too can prompt concern. It is easier to stay within a marginal existence than risk it all.
Today is Wednesday, December 23, 2009, and 2 Cimi, Death, in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. There are those who would risk death to fight for that which they believe in. This statement sounds so much like a fairy tale, doesn’t it?
There are those who say, “Fight to the death for what we believe in”. Nowadays in most all places in this world there is little reason to put our own life on the line. Is it our physical life that we speak of, or the life we hold on higher levels of consciousness? Are we really talking about what we would give up to bring success? At this point we find that we are not asked to give our life, but we find ourselves in a position when we must give up our doubts, or conflicts.
Cib is called “Death”, and when we step up to this point what do we really face? Is death more likely by taking this next step, or does death come about by denying ourselves our dream?
Today is a good day to bring recognition of our questions and excuses, and see beyond their face value. Let the dead bury their own, and leave behind that which no longer serves you. We face this same question so often in our lives, and collectively face great change with the upcoming 2012.
