I always marvel at the transition between Oc and Chuen, and every twenty days this same combination comes back around . They appear to be so opposite one another, but at the same time there must be significance to their side-by-side positioning.
Oc is so very focused on commitment, staying on track, holding on with the grip of a bulldog. We can think of Oc as internalized, holding the right thought, setting the right example.
Today is not the day of Oc, that was yesterday. What could yesterday mean for today? How does the old transition into the new, do we really care about what has already happened?
In the Mayan Tzolkin calendar for today, Tuesday December 8, 2009, this day is 13 Chuen, the Monkey.
As stated before the day 13 is a magical day in the Mayan calendar. It is a day of endings as well as beginnings, teeter in a space where we can infuse everything we’ve got into one tiny point in time and space. Isn’t that in itself cause for celebration – the idea that we can be in a targeted moment yet bring to it the entire universe?
So what does this have to do with Cheun, the monkey? Let’s go back to Oc – focused, committed, very much like the lines in the coloring book.
Then we have Chuen, the crayons. We can go wild with our combination of colors, expressing ourselves with bold statement, but we still need definition to have the greatest impact. The lines can be seen as something that holds us back, but it also gives us such a great space in which to create without losing our own definition.
Space is such a big concept. The infinite goes on.. forever. Here we are, one little soul in a big world, living a day at a time, drawing within the lines. Go Color Your World.
