How is it that our world changes, but the world never seems to change? The answer could be very simple, that this world is based upon freewill and we will do everything we can to preserve that, though it appears that we also do everything we can to break that planetary right.
We create change by bridging between the old and the new and encouraging transition. War and oppression only gives us change by destroying, forcing us out of the life we knew. Do we ever gain anything through controlling others? Eventually each of us will return to the place we left off, to finish our cycles and life lessons, or continue on the merry-go-round until we awaken enough to get off.
Today is December 30, 2009, and 9 Ben, the Reed in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. We stand at a clearly defined line, ready to begin a new decade. In this twenty-first century we can cut ourselves some slack and say, “we’ve been adapting” during the first ten years. Fine, now where do we go? How far must we bend to keep things together? The only answer I can accept is, “as far as it takes”.
The days of this week were laid out for us long ago. Is it by chance that we have the continuity of the road, the flexibility of the reed, and the strength and dedication of the eagle to stand by us in this transition? Better yet, we can recognize those qualities in ourselves, and empower ourselves, making our quantum leaps without need of a calendar to guide us.
