Mayan Daily Insights: Our Qualities, Virtues, and Values

As we cross over from the interactive world of Oc, the dog, into the expressive land of Chuen, the monkey, it can be perceived that there is not much difference between these two worlds.  Sure, we can look at adult and child, or yin and yang, and find differences between these two arch types, but we cannot get away from their relationship oriented focus.

Today is December 28, 2009 7 Chuen, the Monkey.  Chuen brings in the child-like enjoyment and appreciation of living.  This might seem unfair since many are just now returning to work after a three day holiday.  What is really unfair is the state we find ourselves in.

Our world is grossly unfair to that inner child, and its desire to express itself, play, and create through interaction.  Instead we find ourselves protecting our intellectual properties and ideas.  Somewhere in the midst of our work environment we will still find a creative aspect of self, longing for expression as well as appreciation.

I know this sounds simplistic, as a child should, but today can we take a moment to listen, and to honor the contributions made by those who are often overlooked?  Can we turn within and appreciate that part of ourselves that may be buried, forgotten?  Without that simple perspective, how did we ever get our start in this world?
