This morning in the early hours I glanced at the moon phase chart on my browser. Waning Gibbous, it says. The waning moon. Anticipation turns to event, and as soon as we hold it in our hands it is already fading away.
So we follow Chicchan, a very earthy “in the moment” day with 8 Cimi, commonly referred to as death. This is enough to wipe the smile off anyone’s face.
Everyday I step beyond my own questions into the empty space that is the canvas for these postings. There is a brief struggle, because each time I have to let go of my own thoughts so I can more clearly hear the universal message for the day. This step can be viewed in a very Cimi way: in that instantaneous leap there is release of the death grip of the mind in its attempt to control my every perception. There is also, in the very next moment, the birth of vision within consciousness. How much do we miss out on because of our addiction to our tight-fisted mind? Death grip, for sure!
Cimi is not the grim reaper, as some might view it. It is the doorway to seeing whatever is in your universe with a new perspective. It is allowing stars to be seen when they had not been visible before. The setting sun, the waning moon, they allow us to have what we would not allow ourselves when we’re holding on to the past or our old perceptions.
