Breathe in, breathe out. Expansion, and contraction. Yesterday focused on the expansion part, the “all over the place” flexibility of the reed. Today we congeal and bring that laser sharp focus into play.
A wonderful example of contraction is the diamond, created under great pressure. The outcome: something so strong it can stand up to almost anything. We treasure this marvel of the world. We should treasure ourselves as well, but that’s hard to do sometimes, especially when we are “all over the place”.
January 20, 2010 is 4 Ix, the Jaguar in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. The word “keen” comes to mind . Sharp, focused, penetrating, like the animal moving from observation to attack. This ability to move with such finesse does not come from flailing around, but through balance. The number four associated with Ix, the Jaguar on this day speaks of this balance and centeredness. The four seasons, four directions, all interconnected and serving one another.
Expansion is necessary to our growth and living, but contraction is bringing it all together.
