We ask for a new world, yet cling to the old ways. It’s as if we were humpty dumpty, and to some degree our energies must be focused on staying on the wall, else disaster may follow.
Today is January 2, 2010, also 2 Cib, the Vulture in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. The year 2012 approaches, and for the first time we can say “we are in the decade of change that we can only imagine”. Is there anything to fear, other than the crippling feeling of fear itself?
This is the joy of life, making those choices, going for the ride. It is not just in our childhood that we explored the ups and downs, taking our turn on the teeter totter.
Life is filled with so many possibilities, and this gives us hope. We stop and make a wish and hope that as we open our hand that the crawly little creature has morphed into the butterfly. So many choices, so many directions. Many things stay the same, yet so much is uncertain.
Sometimes we find balance, but to teeter totter in the middle is not nearly as much fun. Today is two Cib, and we relate to our world with expectations, holding dearly to what we understand yet anticipating something new. As we let go, and open our hand, our heart and our mind to new possibilities, perhaps we awaken to a room full of butterflies.
