It’s difficult to talk about today without bringing yesterday’s topic into focus.  In the beginning we have the single cell, the start of something that requires great focus and care.  How many times do we hold our breath as we wait for the next step?  How often do we continue to hold our breath in fear of everything we’ve worked for unraveling?

Today’s message is “relax into the day”.  It’s been said before: inhale, and exhale.  What good is all the work without the pleasure of being in the middle of it all?  Without the pleasure why would we want to be there?

Today is Sunday, January 31, 2010, and in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar it is 2 Chicchan, the Serpent.  This symbol in the Mayan calendar is highly charged with the passion and pleasure of participating in living.  The runner gives everything they’ve got to sustain and finish the race, and all the while they experience the exhilarating rush that comes with their great achievement.  The feeling follows even after the finish line.

There is a time for everything, and a place.  Many of the attributes we have, such as the passion of Chicchan, can permeate just about anywhere in life.  It’s not about letting things unravel, it’s about relaxing enough to enjoy being in the middle of it all.  Sounds like a good thing to me!
