Life is filled with all sorts of starts and stops, and sometimes we’re not even sure if we are at the starting line or the finish line. Take, for example, the expression, “Ready, set, go”. Where exactly does this place us, what have we done to get here, and once we’ve completed it have we done anything other than start? This expression implies that a lot takes place before we take that first step.
Today is January 24, 2010, and it is 8 Edznab, the Flint in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. Edznab appears to be in the middle of it all, taking the voice of “Set”.
Just like any race to the finish it can seem like time drags on while we wait for the “Go”. Then in a flash it’s all over. It seems that much of our life is spent preparing for a handful of flashes, at least it may seem that way if our perspective places all the value in winning.
Quite a lot takes place before the race, and behind the scenes, but it is the quality we give in this place that builds the quality in our “Go” moments. It’s the culmination of yesterday’s, and vision, and a million bits and pieces that all come together to bring fuel to our “Go”.
Now here’s a little mind twister: In the Ready Set Go theme, what was yesterday? Logic tells me its “ready”, but I see it as “go”. That makes tomorrow our “ready” moment. More on this topic tomorrow.
